Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. The most common schedule is 9 AM–5:30 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Utica is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Utica follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

A Family Tradition. My family's Polish friend introduced us to Pulaski Meat Market around the year 2000. I was only nine years old at the time. We would drive two hours and load up with sausage, bread, and treats. My favorite was always the "skinny sausage." Today I visited Pulaski with my wife and four children. Thank God, they still have the skinny sausage – which, I learned, is called dried kabanos. I was glad to be able to share the memory with my own family.

My family has been shopping here religiously since my early childhood. The encased meats from their butchery operation are still the best and most authentic I’ve had outside of Poland. It’s a rare treat to go here with my mom to pick things out for family gatherings, and it always feels like we’re stepping into another world when we cross their threshold. The Pulaski Market is a staple of their community and should be protected like a national treasure.

I’ve been here many times and it reminds me of my great Aunt’s home. Kielbasa, pierogies, and a whole array of Ukrainian goodies. They have sample kielbasa that’s awesome, they have authentic snacks, drinks, etc. Stop in and you won’t regret it!

Every year we have a girls weekend in Holland Patent and we visit the Pulaski Market to get the fresh kielbasa, pirogies, hot mustard, smoked ribs and so much more. The personal service, fresh foods and specialty items make this visit so much fun!
